Compliance & Responsible AI

Our commitments on where guidance comes from, how current it is, and where human judgment must stay in control.

Last updated: July 2026

Regulatory sourcing

Guidance is grounded in publicly available authoritative sources so that every answer can be verified independently.

  • 42 CFR Part 483 and related federal regulations
  • CMS State Operations Manual, including Appendix PP and F-Tag guidance
  • CMS memoranda and survey and certification letters
  • Published state licensure regulations across all 50 states and DC
  • Recognized clinical and infection-prevention practice standards

Citation standard

Answers surface the specific regulation, tag, or guidance document they rely on. If a question falls outside available sources, the platform is designed to say so rather than speculate.

Keeping guidance current

Federal and state sources are monitored continuously. When a rule changes, subscribers can receive an alert explaining what changed and the operational impact. Because regulators publish on their own schedules, always confirm time-critical items against the primary source.

Data handling

  • The platform is built to function without protected health information.
  • Facility content is not sold and is not used to train third-party foundation models.
  • Access is controlled with least-privilege practices and encryption in transit.

Human oversight

Ask a DON accelerates research and drafting. Generated policies, in-services, and readiness assessments are starting points for review by your compliance officer, clinical leadership, and legal counsel before adoption.

Limitations

  • AI-assisted output can be incomplete or misapplied to unusual fact patterns.
  • State interpretations vary and may differ from federal baseline expectations.
  • The platform does not provide legal advice or represent your organization to regulators.

Reporting a concern

If you believe an answer is inaccurate or a citation is wrong, email hello@askadon.com with the question and the response. Reported issues are reviewed and corrected at the source level.
